September 14th - 15th, Windy Wyoming Horse Trials

The Connemara brothers (and their riders, of course) rocked it this weekend with Jill Hopcroft and Michael winning the Novice Sr. Division and Emma Ciafone and Gabe (Michael’s brother) bringing home the blue in Novice Jr.

Emma posted on Facebook: "This was such an amazing weekend! This was my first novice ever, and Gabe's first novice with me as his team mate! He was an absolute star, we got a 26% - which was the lowest score of the entire show! Then for XC, I learned that Gabe gets ...quite snarky in the rain. He was a little bucky and strong, but it was a ton of fun and I am so glad he enjoyed it as much as I did. During some turns out on XC it was important to have the correct lead so I would have to trot him to switch so that took up a little bit of time and we ended up going one second too slow. Then in stadium, Gabe was an absolute star. Warm-up went really well, however out in the arena I was not helpful at all to Gabe! I think I got stressed out since I was in first at my first novice. We ended up knocking one rail but we were in the lead by nearly 20 points so it wasn't a big deal. I am so ecstatic that Gabe was so amazing! He was wonderful and I am so thankful to have him. We ended on a 30.9%, Gabe got a halter, ribbon, hat, and $30 gift certificate. Then Jill on Mikey won novice adult! It was so much fun to see the two brothers with their matching blue ribbons. I couldn't have asked for my first novice to go any better! Gabe was truly amazing and I cannot wait for dressage and eventing championships coming up!"

But Team PSEC didn’t stop there. Emily Robbins and Carlos were also in the Novice Jr. Division and finished 4th and Janet Gordon and Besty were 7th in Open Training.

Despite the threat of heavy rain over the course of the weekend, it was a really good show. Congrats to everyone.
